Victoria Svanberg said: “As President of News Media Europe I am keen to work with Europe’s news publisher to promote freedom of the press in Europe and beyond, and to build a sustainable future of our industry, while ensuring that the value of content is properly protected. I thank Fernando de Yarza for all the work he has done building our association to where it is today.”

Fernando de Yarza added: “I congratulate Victoria Svanberg with her appointment. News Media Europe has quickly become a key player in the European media policy arena, defending the freedom of the press and contributing to a sustainable future for professional journalism in Europe. She is without a doubt the right person for the job.”
