Mustard TV Goes Live on Virgin Media

Archant’s Mustard TV has launched on Virgin TV platform channel 159.

Since the station launched in March it has been available on Freeview channel 8 reaching more than 160,000 homes in the Norwich and Norfolk area but this is the first time it has been made available on other TV platforms.

Jeff Henry, Archant chief executive, said: ‘I am delighted that Virgin subscribers in our franchise area will be able to enjoy Mustard TV. They can watch local TV at its best and join our rapidly growing audience. Mustard TV provides a genuine local feel which differentiates it in a crowded channel offering.”

Fiona Ryder, Mustard TV managing director, said: “Since we launched in the spring, there have been an increasing number of people asking when we’d be available on Virgin. We’ve responded to that demand and look forward to welcoming new viewers and extending our reach by more than 30,000 homes for local advertisers. It is a really important step in the story of Mustard TV.”

Mustard TV began broadcasting in March, the second local TV station to go live, on Freeview channel 8. Owned by community media group Archant, which publishes daily and weekly papers and magazines across Norfolk and many other areas of the UK, the station was awarded the licence by Ofcom to run a new local TV channel based in Norwich.
